MAP-Parent Education in Kindergarten
1) Understanding of Child Development:
To provide the information about child.
2) Promotion of Healthy, Happy and Balanced Development of Children:
To help the parents to understand how to use playing games, story-telling, and Arts to promote children’s development. For examples of activities, “Mindful parents, attentive children” parents workshop, parent-child adventure activity, etc.
3) Promotion of Parents’ Physical and Psychological Well-being:
To promote the parents’ mental health through the activities such as Arts, Planting, for example, “Planting Bonsai” parents Workshop.
4) Fostering Home-school Co-operation and Communication:
To promote home-school co-operation through a variety of activities such as Christmas Voluntary Work.
We have been serving over 30 kindergartens in the territory. We have received 100% rate of satisfactory, and very positive feedback from the service users. Examples of some quotes as follows (only in Chinese)
i)「認識兒童發展」：
- 了解原來不是3歲定80歲，同時作為父母要多了解小孩所需，多去鼓勵及作出正面的回應。
- 提醒了都要照顧小朋友的情緒和感受。
- 此講座讓我了解到自己的情緒都會影響到小孩。
ii)「促進兒童健康、愉快及均衡的發展」：
- 充實親子時間，要望著女兒眼睛，要雙方都有主導時間
- 在日常生活中能善用任何物品與孩子互相建立親子關係
- 下次發火時一定要練吓深呼吸，靜下來再教導小朋友！多謝姑娘，老師！
iii)「促進家長身心健康」：
- 我的人生實在太忙，是時候安排些時間，讓自己安靜一下，重新得力 。
- 能夠和大家互動，很開心，也能放鬆放鬆，希望能經常參加此類活動。
- 有一個可以放下要做事情的MODE, 發現自己太緊張了 。
iv)「促進家校合作與溝通」：
- 由老師及家長義工帶領我們，認識社會上有需要的人，身體力行給予幫助，是很好的機會，謝謝 老師、社工及學校的安排。
- 家校合作，學習雙向溝通。
