Speech Therapy Service
Objectives:
- Early identification – to identify children who are at risk of persistent delays, language disorders, and difficulty with reading and writing language. Early identification allows early intervention, which helps to prevent further learning difficulties
- Enhance communication ability – to improve speech, language and communication skills through early intervention, and to enhance individual’s ability to express thoughts and communicate with others
- Build self-confidence – to relieve emotional distress due to speech and language impairment, and to build confidence in communicating with others
- Enhance social skills – to enhance children’s communications and social skills in order to promote their interpersonal relationship with peers
Target Group of Services:
- Children and adolescents aged 2-12 who are suspected of or diagnosed with speech and language impairment and their parents
